Brief Job Description Education Specialist III — Starting Market Rate Salary $68,955.89

Are you passionate about creating impactful educational materials for adult learners in the long-term care industry? Join our Curriculum and Training team as a Curriculum Developer, where you will plan, develop, and revise curriculum that supports regulatory compliance and effective program operations.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training materials align with current regulations, policies, and operational needs. You will also provide consultative support to staff and subject-matter experts, helping translate complex requirements into clear, effective learning content.

Your expertise in instructional design and commitment to staying current with industry changes will support the ongoing professional development of staff and contribute to the continued success of our programs.

This position can be filled anywhere in Texas.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs)

Uses subject matter expertise in assigned programs to plan and develop complex educational materials for provider and agency professional staff using Word, PowerPoint, content authoring tools (such as Soft Chalk and Articulate 360), Blackboard Learn, and other software, following approved guidelines and processes. Collaborates with leadership, program staff, policy staff, and field staff to develop training related to regulations and policies for assigned programs.

Uses expertise in program operations to identify instructional content and methodologies needed to support consistent program operations in a rapidly changing regulatory environment. Monitors state and federal laws, regulatory updates, and changes to policies, procedures, and handbooks to proactively identify curriculum development and revision needs. (45%)

Plans and implements curriculum revisions and updates using a variety of delivery methods, including instructor‑led training and online learning modules. Updates and revises curriculum to comply with changing federal and state laws, regulations, and long‑term care policies and procedures. Develops and maintains curriculum revision schedules for instructor‑led materials and online educational modules to ensure timely updates. (30%)

Reviews and evaluates curricula regularly as part of unit strategic planning. Collaborates with program staff to identify trends and address operational issues to improve educational products and meet ongoing staff training needs. Analyzes program functions, facilitates discussions on improving training materials, and prioritizes workload accordingly. (10%)
