GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs routine (journey-level) training work for employees that use the Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS). Serves as support staff in the Academic Reporting & Curriculum Support Unit, providing oversight and technical support to learners and trainers, reviewing and processing of training records for agency, and maintenance of LCMS usage and permissions. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides LCMS access, training program support, and training to end-users and/or agency training staff.
  • Serves as support staff in the Academic Reporting & Curriculum Support Unit. May assist with uploading new training events to the LCMS for trainers.
  • May assist with preparing standard processes and procedures for trainers to submit trainings for input to using the LCMS and maintains data integrity rules and processes such as course descriptions and lesson plans.
  • Generates training record reports and communicates with stakeholders in an efficient manner to determine needs.
  • Conducts quality control audits on program material to meet State Commission (TCOLE) requirements and ensure timely reporting to meet State Commission requirements.
  • May Research and collaborate to determine best practices and opportunities for advancements in the LCMS.
  • Works with training staff to review, plan and adapt the LCMS and training program processes and procedures based on end-user needs.
  • Provides monthly reports on usage and analytics as requested.
  • Serves as backup triage contact for end-users, assisting with common learner troubleshooting issues such as course enrollment, password resets and training records.
  • Creates tools and training resources for common troubleshooting problems.
  • Communicates pertinent system changes, or enhancements to end-users and/or trainers. Ensures web-based training programs follow program policies including compliance and accessibility.
  • Attends work regularly and observes approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
    • Education: Graduation from an accredited two-year college with a major in Education, Data Management, or Business Management preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience maintaining data and record keeping. One (1) year experience performing progressively complex staff support services to include generating reports and conducting quality control audits is preferred. Experience with computerized Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Data Distributions System (TCLEDDS) and TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) rules and regulations is preferred.
    • Licensure and/or Certification: If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.
    • Regulatory knowledge: Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
