PurposeThe University of Texas, Department of Economics is hiring a full‑time Predoctoral Fellow to start in Fall 2026 to work with The Empirical Macroeconomics Policy Center of Texas (EMPCT). EMPCT promotes, supports, and diffuses empirical macroeconomic research that addresses important policy questions. Fellows work under the direction of Professors Coibion, Pandalai‑Nayar, Boehm, Bhattarai, Drenik, Pfaeuti, and other macro faculty. The fellowship includes preparation for graduate school: analysis of data, development of statistical models, creation of presentations, and editing of research papers.
Fellows will interact regularly with professors and collaborators, participate in meetings, attend seminars, and engage in other departmental events.

- Applicants should be completing (or have completed) a master’s degree and possess strong quantitative skills and experience with empirical research methods.
- Applicants who hold a master’s degree are required to have at least four years of related experience.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsCandidates with research experience are strongly preferred, especially those with programming experience in Stata, SAS, R, MATLAB, and/or Python.
Salary Range$70,000
