Primary Purpose
Foster student success by assisting parents with the benefits of cooperative home/school relations.
Minimum Qualifications Education/Certification- High school diploma or GED
- Director’s Certification (or begin classwork for certification within first year of employment)
- NCLB Certification Required within the first 90 days of employment
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) (or obtain within the first year of employment)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification or obtain within the first month of employment
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by employee.
- Ability to speak clearly and articulately
- Ability to write in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner
- Ability to make oral presentation and conduct training before a large audience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of community organizations and resources and how to effectively operate with the community framework.
- Ability to work with people of all levels Multicultural awareness and sensitivity
- Must be willing to work evenings or occasional weekends when necessary
- Bilingual ability preferred
- Three (3) years of work related experience

The Educators' Code of Ethics is set forth in Texas Administrative Code to provide rules for standard practices and ethical conduct toward students, professional colleagues, school officials, parents, and members of the community.

The coordinator manages administrative and facilities functions responsibly through the following:
- Assist in classrooms to provide coverage that guarantees the CDC meets the legal ratio requirement.
- Contact substitutes and work with substitute system to ensure coverage for all classrooms.
- Assist the director with coordinating personnel time schedules.
- Assist with emergency procedures.
- Maintain all records related to State Licensing Requirements as mandated by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
- Maintain all staff development certificates to ensure license renewal.
- Maintain and record all NAC and NAEYC accreditation rules and regulations.
- Assist in the office with enrollment, reception duties, and other jobs as assigned.
- Inform director of needed supplies, materials, repairs, and maintenance requests.
- Assure all equipment children use is in good condition and assist in maintaining center property inventory records.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Coordinate center events or programs to assist with committee reports.
- Schedule and keep records of participation in parent involvement programs.
- Complete monthly reports of donations, goods, services, and cash by adopter organizations.
- Submit monthly reports on volunteer and mentors to the Adopt-A-School office.
The coordinator promotes improvement of instruction through activities such as the following:
- Consult with campus staff continuously to execute a plan of action for students with greatest needs (e.g., parent visits, attendance. etc.).
- Act as an instructional coach and provide feedback on a continuous basis.
- Assist director with all weekly digital lesson plan postings and follow-up.
- Support the director in observing staff and ensure the coordination of all classroom activities.
The coordinator promotes a positive tone for the center or community relations through activities such as the following:
- Receive and direct all incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Greet and communicate with parents, center/program staff, vendors and the general public.
