Purpose

The Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations manages annual giving initiatives and student-focused alumni engagement programs at Texas Law.

Texas Law’s Alumni Relations and Development team is a highly collaborative group that values proactive communication, kindness, and emotional intelligence. We believe these qualities are essential to building lasting relationships with alumni, colleagues, and the broader Law School community.

Responsibilities
  • Annual Giving:
    Lead the Law School’s annual giving fundraising efforts. Secure annual gifts from students, alumni, and firms, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to and implement strategies to increase donor acquisition and retention rates and strengthen and expand the donor pipeline to major gifts. Draft fundraising copy and project‑manage the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns, including collaborative efforts with Marketing and Communications and independently managed initiatives.

    Execute the 100% Giving Challenge, a firm/company‑based giving program aimed at building participation among alumni and managing volunteers associated with the program. Encourage and acknowledge annual fund gifts through letters, emails, phone calls, and visits. Oversee the Law School’s involvement in university‑wide annual giving efforts, including but not limited to 40 for Forty.
  • Technical Capacity:
    Working with the Director of Data Management, develop segmentation strategies, track activity, and provide regular reporting, analysis, and metrics to measure the success of annual giving campaigns. Maintain organized project plans, campaign documentation, and post‑campaign analyses within established project management and file‑sharing systems. Keep up with annual giving trends and strategies and make recommendations for program advancement.
  • Student Engagement:
    Develop a culture of philanthropy and Alumni Association presence throughout current law student life, including executing the 3L Giving Campaign through the recruitment and management of a Student Steering Committee (chairs and members), and leading associated campaigns and events.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Alumni Relations and the Director of Reunion and Alumni Relations to support alumni engagement efforts.
  • Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in development and/or alumni relations. Demonstrated success managing an annual giving program with proven project management skills, including the ability to set priorities, task switch, and manage multiple projects.
