You will facilitate small-group literacy workshops at a school designed around the passions of young gamers, combining phonics instruction, adaptive literacy technology, and one-on-one coaching to inspire K-2 students to embrace reading with the same enthusiasm they bring to games.

What You Will Be Doing- Create and facilitate small-group literacy workshops for K-2 learners, ensuring phonics instruction is engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to individual needs.
- Adjust teaching strategies dynamically based on student engagement, group proficiency levels, and real-time feedback.
- Conduct motivational coaching sessions with students to promote progress in adaptive literacy apps and support achievement of learning milestones.
- Track student performance data generated by adaptive software and apply insights to customize instruction for each literacy group.
- Employ storytelling, humor, gaming metaphors, and positive encouragement to sustain student effort and address learning resistance.
- Willing to work on-site at Next Gen Academy in Austin, TX.
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education, reading, or a related discipline.
- Certification in structured literacy methods such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or comparable evidence-based phonics frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience providing small-group reading instruction to K-2 students or struggling readers.
- Proven capacity to evaluate student reading proficiency and independently design differentiated instruction.
- Genuine enthusiasm for video games and gaming culture, whether or not you identify as a gamer.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without need for visa sponsorship.
