Position OverviewThe ASPIRE Program (Achieving Success through Parental Involvement, Reading and Education) seeks an Early Childhood Education Instructor to manage a classroom, develop curriculum, plan lessons, administer developmental assessments (training provided), and deliver age‑appropriate infant, toddler, or preschool education in a safe and nurturing environment. The role is a 32‑hour, Monday‑through‑Friday position with evenings and weekends off.

- High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience working with young children and their families
- Demonstrated ability to uphold professional ethics and work with diverse populations
- Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, lift, and move children and materials weighing at least 25 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least one year of relevant experience, or a CDA and minimum 2 years of experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Proficiency in Spanish, Dari, Pashto, or Arabic
- Experience working with families whose home language is not English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Apply infant brain development knowledge and best practices to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom
- Teach early childhood education classes and plan monthly lesson plans
- Develop schedules and routines to support physical activity, child‑directed play, learning centers, and rest
- Observe children for signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, or emotional disturbance and report promptly to the Program Director
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, behavior, assessment data, developmental observations, progress reports, parent communication, and resource referrals
- Communicate with families and hold parent‑teacher conferences, ensuring cultural awareness
- Maintain confidentiality on all private matters unique to children and families
- Follow program standards, best practices, and safety regulations
- Complete Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and Infant Brain Development training upon hire
- Collaborate with ASPIRE staff in a team approach to two‑generation service delivery
- Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and may oversee volunteers or teaching assistants
Supervised by the Family Education Coordinator, with possible oversight of Ameri Corps members, interns, and volunteers.
Work LocationFull‑time, 32‑hour position on‑site at the ASPIRE Program in Austin, Texas.
