Position: Open PhD Positions in Wireless Communications

The Laboratory for Intelligent Networks and Sustainable Communications (LINSC) in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University has openings for PhD students, starting in Fall 2026.

We are seeking motivated candidates to explore cutting-edge topics in future 6G mobile networks, including:

  • Massive MIMO for 6G, including cell-free networks and near-field communications
  • Non-terrestrial networks
  • Sustainable communication systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and electromagnetic field exposure

Candidates should have strong expertise in wireless communications and signal processing. Projects may also involve information theory, error correction, ML/AI, and applied mathematics, depending on the applicant’s interests.

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in wireless communications and/or signal processing.
  • Extensive experience in relevant programming languages, including Python, MATLAB, and C++.
  • Excellent command of English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
