Qualifications and Skills:

Hyde Park Schools seeks a visionary and collaborative Lower School Principal to lead all aspects of the 4K–5th grade campus. The Principal ensures smooth school operations, fosters a professional and growth‑oriented culture for faculty and staff, and maintains a safe, nurturing environment for students. A strong faith background and the ability to integrate a biblical worldview throughout the school experience are essential.

The Principal builds positive relationships with students, parents, and the community, and is dedicated to upholding the mission and core values of Hyde Park Schools while inspiring each child to reach their full potential in a Christ‑centered environment.

Requirements

Highly qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and a Master’s degree from an accredited university. Candidates should have considerable classroom teaching experience and a proven record of effective school administration. Principal certification and experience in a private Christian school setting is preferred.

Salary is highly competitive and based on a scale of years of experience.

  • Oversee student discipline by implementing and modeling restorative practices that foster accountability, personal growth, and healthy relationships, while promoting a positive and respectful school climate.
  • Partner with parents and the broader community, promoting active engagement in school life and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Serve as a bridge between the school and its stakeholders, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and that collaboration supports student growth, school initiatives, and a vibrant sense of belonging for all.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving skills coupled with strong emotional intelligence and teamwork, while still having the ability to be decisive and make difficult decisions.
  • Attract, hire, and retain highly qualified teachers and staff who support and uphold the school’s mission and beliefs.
  • Oversee the development and management of the master schedule, ensuring effective allocation of instructional time and resources to maximize student learning.
  • Coordinate teacher and student classroom placements with input from faculty and data, fostering balanced, supportive learning environments that promote academic excellence and school well‑being.
  • Lead school operations with excellence, ensuring compliance with policies, managing resources responsibly, and advancing strategic goals aligned with the school’s mission and core values.
