Job Title: Bilingual LSSP/School Psychologist
Job-Type: Full-time
Reports to: Sr. Director of Special Services
Salary: $80,000
Bilingual Stipend: $3,500 (may be prorated)
Location: Wayside Network of Schools
Position OverviewThe LSSP will provide diagnostic information on student learning and behavior. He/she will work collaboratively with instructional faculty, parents, and campus and network administration to provide an appropriately ambitious education program for students in K-12 (focused primarily on students at the secondary level) with disabilities in the Wayside Network. He/she will work with special education instructors to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications , Knowledge & Education- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Certification as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
- Knowledge of federal and state Special Education law
- Knowledge of best practices for Special Education
- Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) - Preferred
- Bilingual - Spanish
- Prior experience with special education database management (Frontline/E-Sped) is ideal.

- Experience in consultation, counseling, and functional behavioral assessment
- This position requires an understanding of child and adolescent development. Incumbent must have at least some prior experience with managing student behavior/and the emerging skills necessary to manage student behavior.
- This position requires a basic understanding of counseling theories and the counseling process. The candidate must have some prior experience with individual and group counseling and/or curriculum-based social skills education/training.
- This position requires a basic understanding of consultation and/or the problem identification and problem-solving process with teachers.
- Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of media, work with others as a team, organize and maintain records, manage time and resources effectively and efficiently, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback. The candidate needs reliable transportation for travel between campuses.
- Knowledge of the best practices for special education assessment and interventions
- Knowledgeable about required timelines of the special education process to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive individual assessments of scholars referred for special education evaluations, including comprehensive assessment of emotional/behavioral factors and other conditions related to learning.
- Apply knowledge of ethnic, linguistic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the significance of student diversity for evaluation, planning and instruction.
- Facilitate/participate in ARD meetings to interpret evaluation results
- Work with special education instructors in ARD document preparation and review documentation to ensure all network, state and federal requirements are met.
- Participate in the development of individual educational plans and/or behavior management plan including follow-up and re-evaluation.
- Consult with teachers, support professional personnel, parents and community agencies concerning prevention and/or intervention strategies relating to learning and behavioral problems.
- Provide counseling as a related service for eligible scholars receiving special education services
- Maintain and file electronic reports, records and other documents related to individual scholar ARD’s & IEP’s.
- Actively participate in special education leadership meetings and network special education meetings.
- Work with special education director in providing professional development to special education and general education instructors.
