We are looking for a passionate educator who will guide our students toward college readiness, uphold IDEA’s values, and participate in an ambitious, growth‑oriented culture.
Role MissionIDEA College Prep Teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while embodying IDEA’s values daily. Teachers set ambitious goals, track data to inform dynamic lesson plans, and seek feedback to continually improve teaching practices.
What We Offer CompensationStarting teacher salary for 0 years of experience: $59,500. Eligible for stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500–$4,000 each, plus performance‑based compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.
Other Benefits- Paid Family Leave: up to 8 weeks for birth or adoption (based on tenure and caregiver designation).
- Tuition Reimbursement: up to 50% of tuition for a qualifying degree program, max $5,250 per year.
- Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions per year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work‑life services.

- Relocation allowance may be offered if applicable.
- High level of content‑area proficiency (teaching certification, field of study, or work experience – strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution (required).
- Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
- State certification preferred but not required.
- Relevant coursework or exposure to subject‑matter content.
- Knowledge of core academic subject and ability to pass a grade‑level aligned IDEA content assessment.
- Basic knowledge of curricula and instructional practices.
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to varied situations in the school environment.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula to meet ambitious academic expectations.
- Learn, master, and deliver content and grade‑level curriculum, core objectives, and texts.
- Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
- Use formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress, adjust lesson plans accordingly, and update the gradebook weekly.
- Communicate student progress with students and families weekly.
- Use technology as a communication and educational tool to improve achievement and manage tasks.
- Implement a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives; develop students’ character and sense of community.
- Help shape a school‑wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with students and families with trust and respect.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet student needs.
- Participate in weekly manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, before and after‑school duties, and school‑wide meetings.
- Engage in summer and year‑long professional learning and development.
- Commit to 40+ hours per week on campus.
