The LAUSD Math Tutor will work in collaboration with our Los Angeles area schools. The tutor is responsible for instruction in small groups with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building a stronger academic foundation.
Education and Experience- Experience working with students either as a teacher, tutor or as a resource personnel
- Understand the need for accurate PLI record keeping and documentation in a timely manner
- Providing small group instruction
- Setting and maintaining high expectations for students
- Executing student goal-setting conferences
- Collecting and analyzing data
- Building relationships with students in service of their academic growth
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to motivate students daily attendance
- Communicate with PLI management, school staff, and parents.
- Adhere to all Proximity Learning, Inc timelines and expectations
- Must live in the Los Angeles, CA area
- This is an on site position
- Must have own Transportation
- Be willing to work between 20 to 40 hours per week.
- You will work with 52 Street Elementary School or Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet School.
