Substitute Teachers
Headwaters School is currently hiring Substitute Teachers for grades K-12 as well as Early Childhood (ages 18 months - 5 years). We need qualified applicants that have teaching experience, flexible schedules, and are willing to come in with limited notice.
Responsibilities
- Provide and implement daily lesson plans according to the School's requirements.
- Manage the classroom environment.
- Provide activities, materials, and promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of Montessori educational philosophy preferred.
- Experience working with children/students required.
- Professional appearance.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of subject area assigned.
- Passion for working with children.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Working Conditions
Services are generally provided within a standard classroom environment. Some movement throughout the classroom is necessary to facilitate learning (e.g., standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, and/or kneeling). Light lifting of materials (up to approximately 20 to 40 lbs.) is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
