PRIMARYPURPOSE:
Serve as an intervention specialist for struggling readers, including students with dyslexia. Assist teachers with instructional methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned. Preferred:
- Reading Specialist Teacher certification
- Master’s degree in Reading or related field
- Master Reading Teacher (MRT) certification
- CALP/CALT certification or equivalent training preferred
Skills:
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Minimum of three years’ successful experience as a teacher in grades PreK-5.
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).
WORKING CONDITIONS:Mental, Physical, and Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent physical activities include standing, stooping, bending, and moving classroom equipment.
