Job Summary
School Counselor role at Stride, Inc. The position requires a compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma‑informed approach to counseling. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English and passionate about equity, access, and student advocacy.
Location:
Onsite – Dilley, Texas.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ emotional well‑being, adjustment, and resilience.
- Assist students in developing academic achievement strategies and managing interpersonal relationships.
- Guide students in exploring post‑secondary pathways, including education, employment, and other opportunities.
- Conduct regular check‑ins with students to review academic progress and graduation planning.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and monitor individualized student success plans.
- Review transcripts and academic records to ensure proper placement and progress toward graduation.
- Deliver classroom lessons focused on social‑emotional learning, college and career readiness, and life skills.
- Provide crisis intervention and referrals to external mental health or social services as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school staff, ensuring culturally and linguistically appropriate communication.
- Support compliance with state and federal regulations, including mandated reporting and student confidentiality.
- Participate in school‑wide initiatives, professional development, and student support team meetings.
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field.
- Valid Texas School Counselor Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in school counseling or student advisement.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Ability to pass all required background checks and facility clearance protocols.
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or underserved student populations.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices and culturally responsive counseling.
- Familiarity with Texas graduation requirements and college/career readiness frameworks.
- Experience in a school setting with high levels of collaboration and adaptability.
- Salary range: $70,000. Eligibility for salary variation based on experience, education, and local market conditions.
