This expansion is a deliberate and strategic decision shaped by several years of research, analysis, and thoughtful planning. Known for its joyful learning environment, nurturing teachers, and commitment to whole‑child development, St. Michael’s Prep is seeking a qualified and passionate Early Childhood (Pre‑K
3) Assistant Teacher with knowledge of Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies along with a deep understanding of constructivism and social‑emotional learning in order to create a joyful environment where children move from “me” to “we”. Our Pre‑K 3 program explores the cultural identities and unique profiles of our students in order to build self and social awareness, educating children who will become empathetic and virtuous leaders who positively impact the world.

This is a 10‑month, full‑time position with a competitive salary and benefits that will begin in August 2026.

The Assistant Teacher collaborates with the lead teacher in curriculum planning and reviewing lesson plans. The assistant helps to prepare the materials being taught in order to be knowledgeable of lesson objectives. The assistant works with the lead teacher to support student learning through whole class, small group or individualized instruction, and works in conjunction with the lead teacher to maintain a positive classroom learning environment.
