We are seeking a young scholar specializing in Taiwan studies in either humanities or social sciences, or both. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be affiliated with the Department of Asian Studies. They are expected to conduct substantial research on Taiwan‑related topics, including but not limited to Taiwan’s politics, society, culture, literature, media, and diaspora. Depending on their specialty, they should actively engage in intellectual exchanges with faculty and students in Asian Studies or Government.
During their tenure, they will be required to give a talk on their research products. Presentations at scholarly conferences are strongly encouraged. Additional responsibilities include teaching at least one Taiwan‑related course, organizing academic activities, maintaining the Center website, and assisting the Editors‑in‑Chief of the Center’s online journals, Taiwan Lit and Taiwan Politics. They will work closely with Drs. Yvonne Chang (Asian Studies) and Tse‑min Lin (Government).
The position is a full‑time appointment that provides a competitive stipend, research funds, and benefits. The starting date is August 16, 2024, and the ending date is December 31, 2025. Applicants must complete their Ph.D. degree at least 15 days before the starting date.
