Renewal beyond that date is subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory work performance. Must be eligible to work in the US on a full‑time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
Serve as a primary career services contact for students in an academic department within the College of Natural Sciences (CNS). Partner with university staff, faculty, alumni, and prospective employers to provide career guidance and resources to a community of more than 10,000 undergraduate students across the college. Empower students to engage in early career exploration to create and implement meaningful career goals.
Work towards the strategic goals and metrics of Career Success initiatives. Advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.
- Individual Career
Coaching:
Provide personalized career coaching to students and recent alumni addressing career exploration, internship and job opportunities, employment trends, graduate school, networking, interview preparation and offer evaluation. Assist students in identifying and articulating their skills, interests, and values in relation to career paths. Develop individualized career action plans and provide ongoing support to students in achieving their goals. Collect and utilize occupational data and current labor market information.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and program outcomes. - At‑Scale Career
Coaching:
Design and deliver engaging workshops and presentations to large groups on career and professional development topics. Facilitate group discussions and activities to promote peer learning and support. Develop and maintain workshop materials and resources. Participate in campus‑wide initiatives and events to promote career services. Coordinate with faculty and staff for presentation requests. - Communications:
Manage the collection and dissemination of information about employers and employment opportunities to students. Utilize communications tools to increase CNS student engagement with the career platform, CNS Career Services website, resources, coaching services, and events. Communicate regularly about CNS Career Services offerings with CNS faculty, staff, and student organizations. - Resource Development and Management:
Develop and maintain up‑to‑date career resources, including online guides, handouts, and presentations. Stay informed about current labor market trends and career development best practices. Utilize career management technology and platforms to support student career development. - Representation &
Collaboration:
Represent the career services programs in on‑campus and off‑campus meetings and conferences. Promote collaboration, information exchange, and professional development for students, staff, and faculty related to career services. Establish and maintain effective external and internal communications with employers and other career services personnel for collaboration and professional development. - Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.
