Overview

Assistant Professor of Management, St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, within The Bill Munday School of Business, beginning August 2026.

The Bill Munday School of Business is AACSB-accredited and delivers an experiential, values-based education anchored in the Holy Cross traditions of learning and service. The School prepares students to excel professionally in the dynamic 21st century business environment by integrating entrepreneurial thinking, social enterprise, innovation management, business analytics, and global collaboration into all of its academic and co-curricular programs.

The successful candidate will develop and teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The primary teaching emphasis will be in entrepreneurship; candidates with secondary teaching or professional expertise in managing creative industries, business law, or business communication may be preferred. The Department of Management hosts innovative, AACSB-accredited curricula in business administration, management, entrepreneurship, and international business, emphasizing experiential learning, and also supports the Master of Business Administration program.

Tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, refereed conference presentations, and other impactful intellectual contributions while also serving the needs of the department, school, university, profession, and community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate, ideally from an AACSB-accredited school, in a field relevant to the Department of Management and expected areas of teaching expertise.
  • Ability to develop and teach entrepreneurship and management courses in undergraduate and graduate (MBA) programs.
  • Preferred secondary expertise and ability to develop and teach courses in managing creative industries, business law, or business communication if needed.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the classroom, with preferred experience in both in-person and online modalities, and proven ability to integrate experiential learning across the curriculum.
  • Experience incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and/or emerging technologies into the curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in management, entrepreneurship, or other relevant fields.
  • Willingness to engage proactively with the business and entrepreneurship communities in Austin; at least three years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to lead and/or collaborate on entrepreneurship co-curricular programming and student mentorship.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality.
  • Experience with and commitment to working with a diverse population consistent with the St. Edward's University mission.
  • Documented proof of identity, employment eligibility, and completion of a successful criminal background check.

Responsibilities Include:

Candidates should have an interest in and the ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as support a diverse student body.

  • Fulfill teaching requirements of a 7-course (4-3 or 3-4) teaching load per academic year, teaching and prepping courses as assigned. St. Edward's University is a teaching institution and regards teaching as central to its mission. Courses may be in-person, hybrid, or online as assigned and required for student needs; undergraduate classes are scheduled for weekdays; graduate classes are assigned for weeknights and occasional Saturdays.
