The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Education
, a role of substantial responsibility at one of the world’s premier public research universities. The College stands at the intersection of scholarship, practice and policy and is home to leading researchers, practitioners and teachers dedicated to the pursuit and transmission of evidence-based knowledge on an array of topics within the field of education, including teacher preparation, curriculum and instruction, special education, educational leadership and policy, educational psychology and kinesiology, and health education.

The Dean will have the opportunity to continue to elevate the College’s distinguished reputation and to shape the next era of educational research and practice excellence in Texas, the United States and the world.

The next Dean will join UT during a period of strategic innovation and expansion across the University. With unmatched resources, a world-class faculty and deep partnerships across the state and country, the College is well positioned to strengthen the educator and health science workforce, drive high-impact research and inform policy and practice at local, state and national levels. The Dean will articulate a clear and compelling vision for the College’s future and ensure the operational capacity, faculty excellence and external engagement necessary to realize that vision.

The successful candidate will bring strategic vision, a strong academic record, exemplary leadership and managerial skills and the ability to build enduring and productive relationships with donors, alumni, policymakers, school districts and community partners and especially with stakeholders in the state of Texas.
