Position Overview

St. Edward's invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, tenure‑track position as an Assistant Professor in Management at The Bill Munday School of Business, beginning August 2026.

Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate, ideally from an AACSB‑accredited school, in a field relevant to the Department of Management and expected areas of teaching expertise.
  • Ability to develop and teach entrepreneurship and management courses in undergraduate and graduate (MBA) programs.
  • Preferred secondary expertise and ability to develop and teach courses in managing creative industries, business law, or business communication if needed.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the classroom, with preferred experience in both in‑person and online modalities, and proven ability to integrate experiential learning across the curriculum.
  • Experience incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and/or emerging technologies into the curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed journals in management, entrepreneurship, or other relevant fields.
  • Willingness to engage proactively with the business and entrepreneurship communities in Austin; at least three years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to lead and/or collaborate on entrepreneurship co‑curricular programming and student mentorship.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality.
  • Experience with and commitment to working with a diverse population consistent with the St. Edward’s University mission.
  • Documented proof of identity, employment eligibility, and completion of a successful criminal background check.
Responsibilities
  • Fulfill teaching requirements of a 7‑course (4‑3 or 3‑4) teaching load per academic year, teaching and prepping courses as assigned. Courses may be in‑person, hybrid, or online as assigned and required for student needs; undergraduate classes are scheduled for weekdays; graduate classes are assigned for weeknights and occasional Saturdays.
  • Interact with the entrepreneurship community in Austin and beyond to develop applied projects and opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff in organizing entrepreneurship co‑curricular programming for St. Edward’s students, potentially including innovation summits, business plan competitions, mentorship opportunities, and engagements with Austin Tech Week, SXSW, etc.
  • Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff in developing entrepreneurship programming for external audiences.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate students.
  • Participate in assessment of student performance in the discipline.
  • Maintain AACSB Scholarly Academic status through an active program of high‑quality research leading to publications in peer‑reviewed business journals.
  • Meet School and University service requirements through participation on committees and campus initiatives.
  • Fulfill other faculty responsibilities as outlined in the St. Edward’s University Faculty Manual.
  • Other duties as assigned.
