Job Summary: Serves as a psychiatrist in a community mental health setting providing medical services within scope of license, training, credentialing, and current standards of care. Determines and documents evidence of psychopathology, if present, and makes a diagnostic formulation. Assesses client needs and options to satisfy the case requirements. Discusses findings and recommendations with the client. Decides whether initiation of treatment is urgent: medication, labs, other diagnostic tests, hospitalization, social setting, detox program;

verifies written consent for medication. With consent, carries out the treatment plan, documents interactions during sessions and progress of therapy. Works harmoniously with Unit Manager(s), Associate Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer to define and deliver quality clinical medical care for all clients with the units. Regular, predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement.

Education:

• Doctorate degree.

License:

• Licensed to practice medicine in Texas.
• Current DEA license.
• Board certified in Psychiatry.
• Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

• Bilingual preferred.

Hours: Varies. Regular, predictable attendance is essential.

Salary: $127.57 - $147.68 an hour.
