Cardiac Anesthesiologist Needed at Central Austin, TX Specialty Hospital.

Heart Hospital of Austin is a specialty adult facility with 72 beds, featuring six operating rooms, one EP lab, and one cath lab. The hospital is nationally recognized for its award-winning cardiac care and supports a collaborative team model where anesthesiologists have professional autonomy, performing a mix of cases and supervising highly trained cardiac CRNAs. The facility provides access to high-acuity cardiac cases outside the academic setting in a community-focused environment, with strong provider support to ensure high-quality patient care.

• Open hearts, EP Lab, Structural heart (TAVRs, mitral clips, watchman), Heart Failure (LVAD, ECMO, Mechanical Support), minor and major vascular, endovascular, general surgery. No OB, peds, neuro, transplants.
• In 2024 there were 543 pump cases, 256 TAVRs, and 108 mitral clips.

• Overnight call is home-call 9 weekends per year and 1 weekday per week

Team Highlights: 9 CRNAs, 5 MDs on staff

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• TEE proficiency is required
• Completion of Cardiac Fellowship
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a Physician
