Mixer Design Group The Opportunity
Mixer Design Group is a product design consultancy located in Austin, TX. We’re looking for an independently motivated, curious industrial design student to join us for an 8-week paid summer internship
. The goal of this position is to help you develop professional design skills in a goal-oriented environment where you can gain experience in many aspects of product design.
You’ll be paired with a mechanical engineering intern to develop a product that is portfolio-ready, as well as contribute to active client projects. We’re looking for students graduating in December 2026 or May 2027.

CAD Skills
We use Solid Works and Creo, but experience in any 3D modeling software is helpful. You should be comfortable using CAD to explore and refine design ideas.
Visual Communication
The ability to tell stories and share ideas clearly through sketches, models, renders, or short animations. Clarity and speed matter more than perfection.
A Good Eye
A solid grasp of design principles. You know what makes a design work and can explain why.
