Product Specifications Associate

Taphandles is an award-winning design and manufacturing company specializing in custom product solutions for the beverage industry. From tap handles and dispense towers to branded point-of-sale materials and experiential marketing elements, we help beverage brands stand out where it matters most — at the bar.

We are seeking a Product Specifications Associate (0–2 years experience) to join our Austin headquarters.

This is an entry-level, in-person role focused on translating creative product concepts into clear, factory-ready technical documentation. You will work closely with Industrial Designers and Project Managers while developing strong manufacturing judgment and production discipline.

This is not a remote or hybrid position. All new hires are expected to work in the Austin office five days per week.

• Translate Industrial Design concepts into detailed manufacturing specification documents (SPECs)
• Produce 3D models in Rhino when required to clarify construction or assembly
• Use Adobe Illustrator and Rhino 3D to prepare production-ready technical files
• Assist in determining materials, assembly methods, finishes, and decoration techniques
• Prepare and clean vector and raster artwork files for screen and digital printing
• Verify artwork integrity and confirm proper color standards (Pantone Matching System)
• Review specification documents for accuracy and completeness
• Support feasibility checks related to cost, function, and manufacturability
• Maintain and organize physical material and finish samples
• Participate in internal production and QC meetings

• 0–2 years of experience in production design, technical drafting, manufacturing-related design, or similar role
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino 3D) and Adobe Photoshop
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and commercial print processes
• Familiarity with the Pantone Matching System
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Clear communication skills and willingness to learn
• Salary: $55,000 – $62,000 annually
