Job Description & How to Apply Below

Project Architect / Designer

We’re a small, design-focused architecture studio committed to modern work rooted in craft, materiality, and context. While based in Austin, our projects span the country, from tight urban lots to expansive remote landscapes. We are seeking a Project Architect to join our team. The right candidate brings strong design sensibility, technical depth, and a collaborative mindset, with room to grow into a design lead or associate role.

The Role

You will lead projects from schematic design through construction, managing timelines, consultant coordination, and client relationships. As a small office, we work closely and expect meaningful ownership. This role includes hands‑on engagement in design development, documentation, detailing, and site visits. Our work ranges from custom residential to design‑forward commercial projects, with a consistent emphasis on proportion, buildability, and material expression.

What We’re Looking For
  • 8+ years of experience in an architecture office, including built work
  • Experience in high‑end residential architecture
  • B.Arch or M.Arch degree
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketch Up
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Experience coordinating consultants and leading construction administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction assemblies and detailing
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative studio environment
  • A thoughtful approach to materials, proportion, and the craft of building

We value people of strong character. Individuals who are open to feedback, steady under pressure, and committed to follow‑through. Those who can organize complexity, complete what they start, and set aside ego for the good of the team. We look for people secure enough to grow, adaptable without being reactive, and principled without being rigid. If this resonates with how you work and lead, we would love to hear from you.

Who

We Would Also Consider

If you believe you meet many of these criteria but do not yet have the stated years of experience, and you are confident in your ability to lead at this level, we encourage you to apply. We are open to exceptional candidates who demonstrate maturity, technical depth, and initiative beyond their years.

Bonus If You Also Have
  • Architecture license
  • Construction or hands‑on building experience
  • Graphic design experience
  • Background or interest in photography, woodworking, or metalworking

We offer a supportive, high-accountability environment where good ideas rise quickly and design excellence is shared. This is a full‑time, in‑person role with room for meaningful growth.
