LSI (Land Strategies Inc.) is seeking a Landscape Architect Project Designer to join our growing, design‑driven Austin studio. This individual will support the development of design solutions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate has a strong design sense and is eager to learn how to carry a project’s design vision from concept to completion. This role involves collaborating with the team through thoughtful design exploration, iterative problem‑solving, clear communication, and creative thinking.

The Landscape Architect Project Designer is a role that combines hands‑on design work with exposure to project coordination. The candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and consultants to refine design concepts and ensure they meet project goals. Responsibilities include preparing detailed drawings, 3D models, and presentations as well as producing complete drawing sets for construction and permitting.
The successful candidate will support multiple projects at various stages, helping to maintain clarity, organization, and design quality throughout each project’s lifecycle. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented professional who enjoys collaborating with a team, learning from experienced designers, and adapting to evolving project needs. You will receive guidance and support through mentorship as you grow in your role.
Key Responsibilities:Design & Production
- Contribute to concept development, graphics, design development and technical detailing.
- Prepare construction documents, presentations, and illustrations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and sustainability guidelines.
- Integrate feedback from clients, jurisdictions, and design leadership into drawings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate into designs.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and consultants to refine design concepts and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Participate in site visits to assess project progress and ensure design intent is being followed.
- Contribute to the development and mentorship of junior design team members.
- Support studio‑wide design culture through collaboration.
- Identify opportunities to improve project workflow and team efficiency.
- Support the development of standards, processes, and best practices.
- Uphold LSI’s mission, vision, and values in all design and business operations.
Experience:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA or MLA required).
- 2–5 years of experience in professional practice.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex design projects.
- Strong technical skills—AutoCAD, Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, Rhino.
- Knowledge of Revit, Enscape/Lumion, or similar tools highly valued.
- Strong drawing, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
