Parking Services Representative

The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Parking Services Representative for the Parking and Transportation Services department. The position is a full‑time, non‑exempt, 40‑hour work week, and is expected to continue beyond the initial appointment. Work begins Jan 07, 2026.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

Assist in the non‑routine receipt, disbursement, and accountability of University funds, and answer complex questions concerning policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Complete departmental and university forms and reports; sell permits and other parking–related items; accept and post payments.
  • Check permits to verify authorization and assist in identifying stolen or altered permits.
  • Communicate with various campus departments via radio/phone for auto assistance, boot verification, and security purposes.
  • Drive UT vehicles to perform job duties; work in various campus locations, including garage, event, and surface operations.
  • Operate multiple departmental software systems and common office machines.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual audits of permits and access cards; compile periodic reports.
  • Supervise students and new cashiers as required.
  • Receive cash, checks, or credit cards at a cashier’s window or from a prepay gate; maintain a cash drawer bank; balance cash and prepare daily cash out reports.
  • Provide continuous, exemplary customer service.
Qualifications
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Four (4) years experience as a cashier in a large‑scale operation, or with large‑scale receipt, disbursement, and recording of cash payments.
  • Experience using a personal computer and performing clerical functions.
  • Experience in team settings, providing excellent customer service, completing reports, and maintaining database records.
  • Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License; provide a current three‑year driving record. If not a Texas resident, obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days of becoming a resident.
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, reliable transportation, and punctual, dependable attendance.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a university department or large‑scale parking environment.

Salary Range

$41,600 + depending on qualifications and paid overtime.

Working Conditions
  • Generally standard office conditions.
  • Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
  • May work in all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical and mechanical hazards.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard; use of manual dexterity; climbing stairs.
  • Driving a vehicle or cart; lifting and moving.
Work Shift

Friday – Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
