Overview
The Cicero Institute is seeking a Digital Media Associate to help translate rigorous policy research into compelling, high-impact communications. This role sits at the intersection of policy, media, and storytelling and is ideal for a creative, entrepreneurial professional who is passionate about public policy and eager to help shape important national conversations.
The Digital Media Associate will support the production and promotion of Cicero’s research across digital platforms. This individual will work closely with the research, communications, and development teams to amplify Cicero’s ideas through written, visual, and multimedia content.
This position is based in Austin, Texas, and reports to the Director of Marketing and Media.
Responsibilities- Support the production and promotion of Cicero’s research by drafting and editing communications materials, including newsletters, op-eds, policy briefs, website copy, and long-form research
- Assist in producing multimedia content, especially short- and long-form video
- Support social media strategy and manage day-to-day operations of Cicero’s social media accounts
- Monitor the news cycle and policy landscape to identify timely opportunities to elevate Cicero’s research and brand
- Support media relations efforts by building and maintaining press lists and tracking placements
- Assist with management of Cicero’s websites, including publishing content and maintaining digital assets
- Help plan and execute public events, briefings, and conferences
- Contribute to other communications and organizational priorities as needed
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in digital media, communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields
- Demonstrated ability in at least one core content area, such as:
- Video production and editing
- Photography
- Social media growth and engagement
- Graphic design
- Another form of high-quality content creation
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and a willingness to take ownership of projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Alignment with Cicero’s mission and values, demonstrated through professional experience, internships or fellowships, academic work, or personal projects
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, English, history, journalism, film, design, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
The Cicero Institute offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health benefits, 401k, and a generous paid leave plan. The ideal candidate is located in Austin, Texas, or is willing to relocate.
We are hiring for this role on a rolling basis, but intend to fill this position as soon as possible.
