We are seeking a Brand Visual Asset Manager to join an established, award-winning in-house creative organization. This role sits at the intersection of design, asset management, brand governance, and AI-driven innovation. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in visual systems, illustration frameworks, and brand expression, combined with sound judgment around emerging AI design tools.

This position requires regular onsite collaboration in Austin, TX.

• Brand Visual Asset Ownership and Oversight
• Support the creation, maintenance, and production of the brand’s visual asset system, including illustration, iconography, motifs, and design components.
• Contribute to creative ideation and design iteration using Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Figma.
• Define and maintain visual standards, usage guidelines, and future evolution paths.
• Ensure consistency and quality across internal teams, external vendors, and partner-generated visuals.
• Act as a visual authority, reviewing and approving assets before broad usage.
• Collaborate with content creators across teams.
• Manage usage rights requests to ensure legal and licensing compliance.
• Maintain Bynder taxonomy for illustration and icon assets.
• Organize digital assets and curate collections.
• Support vendor coordination, including bids and documentation.
• AI-Enabled Visual Strategy and Governance
• Lead the integration of AI tools into the visual ecosystem.
• Define appropriate use cases for AI-generated and AI-assisted visuals.
• Establish governance frameworks for AI output, ensuring alignment with brand, accessibility, and quality standards.
• Brand-Safe AI Exploration and Enablement
• Explore emerging AI design capabilities with a brand-first approach.
• Partner with design, UX, marketing, legal, and governance teams to ensure that AI usage is ethical, compliant, and aligned with brand values.
• Translate AI discoveries into clear guidance, tools, and workflows for internal teams.
• Vendor and Partner Design Leadership
• Work with external illustrators, agencies, and vendors to maintain alignment with brand visual systems.
• Provide guidance, direction, and guardrails for external creative partners.
• Review and approve vendor-produced assets before integration into the visual system.
• Ensure vendor understanding of AI guidelines and expectations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with Brand, Creative, UX, Digital, and Platform teams to ensure consistent visual expression across channels.
• Support brand training and office hours for visual systems and AI use.
• Serve as a connector between creative teams and scalable design systems.

• Strong background as a designer or art director with deep understanding of visual systems and brand expression.
• Demonstrated design leadership and ability to set direction.
• Expertise in illustration systems, iconography, and visual language development.
• Working knowledge of AI design tools and good judgment on when to use them.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Illustrator.
• Comfortable in a role focused on governance, oversight, and enablement rather than daily production.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
