About the Role

Superintendents are responsible for successful field management of the project. This includes safety, quality, schedule adherence, subcontractor coordination, documentation, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The Project Superintendent is responsible for mentoring, training, coordinating, and overseeing all field staff on the project.

Responsibilities Preconstruction
  • Assist Project Manager with proposal schedules and project pursuits
  • Participate in pursuit presentations and attend project kickoff meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Lead preconstruction meetings with subcontractors
  • Review safety plans, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, logistics, and work hours
  • Partner with the Project Manager to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Document critical communications with owners and subcontractors
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including critical path and milestones
  • Perform constructability reviews of design documents
  • Develop and manage site logistics plans
  • Attend OAC meetings, weekly staff meetings, and monthly project reviews; assist with reporting, logs, and change order tracking
Site & Field Management
  • Coordinate daily activities of field staff and subcontractors
  • Monitor schedule compliance, productivity, and workforce levels
  • Manage deliveries, inventory, inspections, and daily field operations
Safety & Quality Control
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards
  • Conduct and document weekly safety audits and SWPPP inspections
  • Maintain jobsite housekeeping and trailer organization
  • Perform ongoing QA/QC inspections and track corrective actions
Subcontractor Management
  • Participate in subcontractor buyout meetings and scope clarification
  • Evaluate subcontractor capacity, workforce, and schedule compliance
  • Review and approve subcontractor scopes, invoices, and work quality
  • Conduct first-work inspections and weekly coordination meetings
  • Manage daily reports detailing work performed and workforce by area
