• Works directly with Contractor including the hard bid processes.
• Reviews scope of work with General Contractor pre/post bid and hardware/HMF manufacturer combo packages to determine most competitive position.
• Performs labor cost interpretation based on scope of work.
• Receives construction plans, drawings and specifications and reviews for familiarization; checks for completeness; notes bid deadlines and any special requirements.
• Organizes approach to project by deciding how to separate portions of major projects and to identify typical opening or hardware sets, etc.; notes project construction schedules.
• Interprets construction specifications; where necessary, discusses interpretations with team salesperson, customers or the architect.
• Reads building plans and identifies applicable portions with Cook & Boardman involvement.
• Summarizes door opening and other applicable portions of plans by type.
• Compares actual and estimated materials on completion of each project.
• Enter applicable information into Comsense system and prices job based on computer cost files.
• Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs and costing all parts and scope of work.
• All other duties as assigned.

• 3-5 years of related experience in similar construction or building material industry.
• Accurate mathematical skills.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

• Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of door, frame and hardware applications as they relate to UL, fire code, building code, ADA, life safety and other restrictions that relate to the general commercial construction industry.
• Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented, deadline conscious, goal driven, and able to handle all types of scopes of projects.

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. It routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required.
