You as an Assistant Project Manager will:
- Field Leadership & Operations:
Assist the project team with day-to-day oversight of on-site activities, supporting safety, quality, and production goals. - Preconstruction & Planning:
Participate in the development of project schedules, subcontractor evaluations, and preconstruction activities, including risk assessments and quality planning. - Contract & Legal Compliance:
Support project managers in maintaining construction documents, subcontracts, insurance, bonds, and contract requirements. - Scheduling & Coordination:
Contribute to the preparation of six-week look-ahead schedules, weekly work plans, and coordination with subcontractors to keep work aligned with milestones. - Procurement & Subcontractor Management:
Assist with subcontractor buyout, material procurement, submittals, approvals, and tracking of deliveries and fabrication. - Safety Oversight:
Support the implementation of project-specific safety plans, participate in safety meetings and inspections, and reinforce Ellis Don safety standards through regular inspections and corrective actions. Review subcontractor pre-mobilization safety documentation. - Quality Assurance:
Help implement the project specific quality control plan, review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and track quality issues for resolution. - Financial Management:
Assist with labor management, cost reports, project budgets, and monthly billings to ensure accurate financial tracking. - Lean & BIM Utilization:
Contribute to Lean planning and BIM coordination, supporting project efficiency and collaboration. - Communication & Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, support closeout processes, and provide timely updates to the project team. - Client Relations & Business Development:
Help maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and attention to project needs.
- You are interested in pursuing career opportunities in Austin, Dallas, and West Texas.
- You have a construction related degree or diploma and 1-3 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on large projects.
- Foundational understanding of construction industry practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.
