Job DescriptionThe Superintendent is responsible for the daily operation of a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervises all direct labor positions on the assigned project and manages any contracted work to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities- Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction based on scheduling and staffing requirements for each phase.
- Interacts with the Project Manager to determine the project schedule and develops "look ahead" schedules to assess progress.
- Coordinates the pre‑construction meeting with the Project Manager before mobilization.
- Directs procurement of tools and materials to be delivered on specified times to align with work schedules.
- Communicates construction issues and progress to all parties: meets with supervisory personnel, craft staff, subcontractors, and clients as required.
- Works with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Collaborates with supervisory, engineering, inspecting, and supplier personnel to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure conformity to specifications and schedules.
- Manages the project based on progress reports, material usage, costs, and adjusts schedules accordingly.
- Assists the Manager of Craft Resources in moving personnel between projects to minimize hiring and layoffs; responsible for crew mixes, work assignments, labor cost control, and may terminate personnel not meeting company policy.
- Helps prepare the Project Management Plan in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensures implementation of company policies such as safety, equal opportunity, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a construction‑related field or equivalent with at least 5 years of Data Center construction experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and from the project site.
- Strong understanding of building codes and ability to read blueprints accurately.
- Good knowledge of subcontractors’ scopes of work and tolerances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic Spanish preferred.
- Good administrative skills – monitors progress and coordinates work activities.
- Strong management skills – supervises subordinates and follows up on delegated assignments.
- Integrity and adherence to company ethical standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability – formulates solutions from data analysis.
- Team player who collaborates with coworkers, customers, and subcontractors.

- Basic office equipment operation (fax, copier, telephone) and proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software.
- CMiC knowledge preferred.
- Project experience with hospitals/medical facilities ($10 million+).
