This is a hands-on Payroll Specialist contract requiring someone who can independently manage end-to-end payroll, confidently handle year-end close, and proactively optimize the Paycom system to better support business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Process full-cycle payroll for up to 250 Texas-based employees using Paycom
- Ensure compliance with Texas payroll laws and regulations
- Execute and manage year-end payroll close activities within Paycom
- Review and optimize Paycom configurations, workflows, and reporting
- Accurately process special pay types including shift differentials, premium pay, mileage, bonuses, and commissions
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and system efficiencies
- 3+ years of hands-on Paycom payroll experience
- Proven ability to manage payroll independently from start to finish
- Strong understanding of year-end payroll requirements and deadlines
- Experience in complex payroll environments
- Familiarity with multiple special pay structures and calculations
