What You’ll DoThe procurement Specialist will perform and coordinate purchasing and inventory management activities of the company’s purchased and inventoried supply.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with centers (locations) and other departments to identify purchasing needs. Actively engage with center staff to maintain accurate inventory information and ensure availability of required quantity to optimize site operations.
- Assist with the collection of data and analysis of current inventories to determine required quantities to purchase.
- Create and administer purchase orders.
- Work with suppliers to coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely availability of supplies.
- Work with Supply Chain leadership to implement purchasing and inventory management practices, and reporting capabilities, to be used for ensuring optimal inventory levels and purchasing processes.
- Maintain purchasing and inventory transactions in the ERP system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Hands‑on experience with purchasing and inventory management activities, specifically the execution and administration of purchases per supply plans.
- Working knowledge with ERP systems such as Microsoft, SAP, or Oracle;
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in business administration, logistics, supply chain, operations or similar preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2)+ years’ hands‑on experience with procurement functions such as purchasing inventory management, and planning is required; ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the principal job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
- In‑Office Position, mainly sedentary work (office work).
- Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must possess auditory and visual acuity.
