T1 Energy is looking to hire a Director, Commercial Counsel to support G1, , and HQ by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, with a heavy focus on procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational contracts. You’ll help commercial teams move fast while appropriately managing risk.
You’ll not only review contracts, but you’ll build scalable processes, refine templates, and create clarity around how legal review happens across the business.
What You'll Do- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including procurement, supply, manufacturing, services, and vendor contracts.

- Partner closely with commercial, operations, procurement, and leadership teams to align risk with business priorities.
- Create and maintain contract templates and playbooks to increase speed and consistency.
- Establish and manage clear processes for legal intake, review, and approvals.
- Provide guidance on compliance, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with outside counsel when necessary, ensuring constant discipline and clear scope.
- Support internal stakeholders on issue‑spotting and preventative risk management.
- Business‑oriented and pragmatic, meaning you know when to push and when to move.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, scaling manufacturing environment.
- Clear, direct communicator who can explain risk without over complicating.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously.
- Someone who sees legal as a partner to growth, not just a gatekeeper.
- JD degree and admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
- 5+ years of relevant experience (in‑house experience strongly preferred).
- Experience drafting and negotiating procurement, supply, and commercial contracts.
- Experience in the solar industry, manufacturing, energy, or a related technical/industrial sector preferred.
- Strong ability to coordinate cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects at once.
- Familiarity with compliance, employment‑related matters, or multi‑site operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
