Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're seeking an exceptional Senior Commercial Counsel to report to our Group General Counsel. As a key member of our team, you'll leverage your outstanding judgment, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills to drive success. You'll lead a high-performing team that provides critical legal support to our global Sales and Renewals organization, navigating complex sales transactions and collaborating with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Responsibilities- Lead negotiations for SaaS agreements across mid‑market, enterprise, government and public sector customers.
- Build strong partnerships with our Sales and Renewals teams to help drive success.
- Work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure we have a robust and compliant approach to contracting, helping drive revenue generation and renewal rates whilst balancing risks.
- Manage and mentor a high‑performing contracting team to support our global sales and renewals organizations.
- Take ownership of the ongoing development and improvement of our standard terms, customer‑facing legal materials, playbooks and overall approach to negotiation and contracting.
- Use your knowledge and experience of regulatory/legal issues that impact contracts we enter into, particularly data privacy.
- Deliver enablement training to revenue‑generating teams.
- Work with partners across our business to support engagement and contracting with our own vendors.
- You are comfortable working with a global team across multiple business functions and balancing competing priorities to make informed decisions.
- You are pragmatic business enabler, not a business blocker. You analyze risks at a business‑wide strategic level to make the right decision for our business.
- Law degree and admission to a state bar
- 10+ years of legal experience, with a strong history of working in‑house with multinational SaaS companies to drive sales and renewals.
- You are ready to hit the ground running, learning about our business and how you can help it succeed.
- You have a track record of building strong relationships with revenue‑generating teams, helping them close out deals quickly and without unnecessary friction while also confidently managing their expectations and demands.
- You have excellent communication skills and can explain complex issues simply and concisely with a wide audience.
- Experience leading contracts or legal teams operating with a high‑volume and velocity of contracts.
- Knowledge of data privacy/protection in the context of SaaS contracts.
- Experience of dealing with US Federal contracting and procurement processes, including via channel sales.
