A Project Manager coordinates the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitors the progress and schedule of projects; and communicates with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff.

Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional project teams, providing guidance, making assignments, and monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion of tasks to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Manage the work of project team members and maintain techniques to encourage communication among and across project teams, fostering good decision‑making.
  • Communicate with project team members, executive sponsors, stakeholders, and internal/external customers to plan and implement project activities, resolve issues, report status, and ensure project success.
  • Create and follow project communication plans that include key roles and responsibilities; prepare meeting agendas and document results.
  • Attend various Child Support Division project meetings to stay informed about issues that may impact projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and/or executive briefings for executive management.
  • Coordinate, create, review, and monitor project work plans, schedules, budgets, status reports, risk management plans, communication plans, and other project deliverables, according to the established project management methodology and software development lifecycle.
  • Use technical knowledge of computer and information systems in planning and managing software development projects.
  • Identify, track, and resolve project problems and issues; ensure appropriate staff are involved in decision‑making and that issues are escalated to project owners, stakeholders, and executive management, as appropriate; document and communicate issues and their resolutions to project team, stakeholders, and other interested parties.
  • Oversee or perform advanced business analysis work, including analyzing and/or modeling business processes and needs to define and test business requirements for system development projects or procurements.
  • Conduct surveys or feasibility studies; produce comprehensive reports on findings.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Attend work regularly in compliance with agreed‑upon work schedule.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.
Required Qualifications
  • Project Manager II –

    Education:

    Graduation from high school or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; experience in business analysis, Child Support Program, or project management may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Experience:

    Two (2) years of full‑time experience in business analysis, Child Support Program, or project management.
