The International Trade Compliance Analyst/Coordinator is a position to support a critical business process to strengthen the company's compliance with international trade compliance regulations. This position will be responsible for the administration of the day-to-day functions associated with import and export operations of the company.
Responsibilities- Assuring that imports of the company are compliant with US Customs import regulations such as HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification, valuation, country of origin, assists, record keeping, ADD/CVD, special trade programs and other government agency requirements
- Assuring the company's exports are compliant with the regulations of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) or the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) by assuring the goods have the correct ECCN (Export Commodity Classification Number), or ITAR munitions list classification
- Work cross-functionally with TEL Engineering and Materials teams, (globally), to determine proper classification, (ECCN, HTS), of materials
- Screening export orders against restricted/denied parties lists, and record keeping and reporting requirements
- Following internal controls of the company related to import/export compliance, meeting/exceeding compliance goals, objectives, order processing lead times
- Updating procedure and work instruction manuals to reflect current practices or to make improvements
- Submit Post Summary Corrections as directed by management and assist with any needed prior disclosures
- Interact with internal/external customers and colleagues, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and legal compliance of shipments
- Organize, sort, and categorize emails to shared Outlook mailboxes and ensure all communications are addressed
- 1 to 3 years' experience with international trade compliance regulations particularly in tasks related to Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) ? Experience with processes related to engineering change order and documentation controls, particularly in a high tech industry highly desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with the US Export Administration Regulations with a strong understanding of the export authorization determination processes as well as the US Commodity Control List (CCL)
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- SAP experience is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and have a strong attention to detail
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
- Build and maintain positive relationships with team members
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
