DBIA Taxonomist

Location: Austin, Texas

The Digital Business Intelligence and Analytics (DBIA) group at a large Technologies company is looking for a Taxonomist to fulfill the creation, maintenance, and governance of taxonomies, as well as manage the attributes associated with them. Stakeholders include the taxonomy governance group, ontology governance group, product management group, taxonomists, ontologists, system owners, business unit stakeholders, and IT developers. This role is expected to have a heavy communications component, including education.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and Advocate.

Gather Stakeholder Requirements and Facilitate Agreements.

Act as Project Manager and Educator.

Provide Consulting services.

Must Have: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Graph databases, taxonomies.

Good to Have: Pool Party, Top Quadrant Edge, Graph

DB Ontotext.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience working in taxonomy management and governance in a large organization.

Proven record of creating taxonomies from business requirements.

Experience researching, identifying, and documenting requirements, as well as enforcing standards, agreements, and charters.

Understanding of knowledge content management and development, as well as search and retrieval tools.

Basic understanding of semantic ontologies.

Familiarity with NLP engines.
