OverviewThe Jobsite Logistics Coordinator (JLC) II is responsible for managing the storage, transportation, shipping, and delivery of Packaged Alterman Construction Kits (PACK) and overall inventory. The JLC II implements efficient procurement and logistics practices across departments and projects by conducting time studies, gathering feedback, and identifying areas for improvement in Alterman's Supply Chain. The JLC II ensures project leadership satisfaction by maintaining communication and relaying all project logistics‑related information.
EssentialFunctions
- Project Start (50%):
Establish logistical needs for assigned projects, including storage, project access, security considerations, after‑hours lighting, and temporary power requirements for the laydown area; create a jobsite logistics map detailing points of contact, delivery instructions and schedules, and locations of delivery areas, job trailers, laydown yard, etc.; evaluate project requirements and propose Vendor Value Added Solutions (VVAS) to reduce procurement, logistics, and installation costs;
develop implementation plans and establish vendor expectations; develop scorecards and analytics to measure vendor performance; develop and maintain standard operating procedures for material handling, incorporating lean construction techniques. - Project Duration (30%):
Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations; ensure premises, assets, and communication methods are used effectively; keep logs and records of warehouse stock and executed orders; perform time studies on material handling associated with the PACK process; ensure accurate tracking of PACK materials from manufacturing to installation; coordinate with vendors to utilize their delivery services—ensuring raw material kits, tools, and prefabricated assemblies are delivered simultaneously;
develop raw material and tool kits to supplement the PACK process; collect feedback from project teams via vendor surveys, relay feedback to vendors, present survey results to project leadership, and use feedback to improve logistics processes and plan supply‑chain optimization projects; visit job sites with VVAS to ensure adequate logistical support, proper utilization, and gather performance metrics; train Foreman on tools that integrate with the purchasing department. - Project Closeout (10%):
Coordinate overall job clean‑off with project leadership and warehouse teams; assist with tool and equipment returns and return unused material to vendors for credit; identify high‑value items remaining from completed projects and facilitate their use on current or upcoming projects; coordinate a meeting with the Project Manager, Foreman, and Purchasing Manager to review vendor scorecards and performance data. - Perform other duties as assigned (10%).
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of construction supply chain experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution or supply chain management preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Jobsite Logistics Coordinator I required.
- Experience with conducting time studies and process analysis preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and logistics.
- Excellent prioritization and multi‑tasking capabilities.
- Proficient computer skills with basic office programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Suite (Power Automate & Power BI) or other analytics software.
- Office environment with frequent travel to job sites required.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Must be able to frequently sit.
- Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, crouch, or crawl, stoop, and kneel.
- Must be able to safely operate a vehicle to travel to and from job sites.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to safely maneuver in a construction environment.
