Job Summary:
- The Junior EHS Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and supports day-to-day compliance activities, data management, and awareness initiatives. The role enables efficient execution of EHS administrative processes, allowing technical and leadership staff to focus on risk management and strategic initiatives.
- Core Focus Areas
- Hazardous waste tracking, manifests, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Chemical inventory management, including SDS collection, organization, and periodic updates
- Collection and entry of environmental and sustainability data into corporate systems
- Administrative support for EHS training and awareness programs (scheduling, tracking, documentation, logistics)
- Maintenance of EHS documentation and records to support internal reviews, inspections, and audits
- Support for EHS communication and awareness campaigns (newsletters, posters, safety events, and site communications)
- Coordination with Facilities, Operations, contractors, and other internal stakeholders to support EHS activities
- Assistance with data accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement of EHS administrative processes
- Gain practical exposure to EHS regulatory frameworks such as OSHA and EPA/RCRA hazardous waste requirements
- Develop familiarity with internal EHS management systems, reporting tools, and recordkeeping standards
- Learn best practices for audit readiness, compliance support, and EHS data integrity
Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with EHS or data management systems is a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments under the direction of the Facilities Manager
- Willingness to learn and grow within the EHS profession
