This assignment is located at the Bureau of Economic Geology at the JJ Pickle Research Campus.

Purpose:

Temporary additional assistance is needed in the Purchasing Department at the Bureau due to staff retirement and transition.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Purchasing department with purchasing and receiving activities. Performs purchasing, receiving, and reconciliation activities for the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and services using the Bureau's internal Purchasing System.
  • Register Bureau of Economic Geology employees for conferences, job‑related classes, memberships, and licenses. Manage Bureau Supply Closet and perform data entry reconciliation for supply chargebacks.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and good customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic UT Austin knowledge.

Hourly Rate

$24.00

Working Conditions
  • Attire:
    Jeans
  • Standard office environment, use of manual dexterity, repetitive keyboard use, lifting, pushing, or pulling, standing.
Work Shift
  • Hours per week: 19
  • The work hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The schedule is to be discussed with the supervisor.
