Startups Business Researcher

We are looking for our next LAUNCH Researcher. This is an in-person role in Austin, TX, where you will learn a lot quickly and have ample opportunity to grow professionally and try new things.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Research companies in the startup world, build relationships with founders
• Meet with founders, both in person and via Zoom to learn about their business, take notes in Notion and pitch the company to the investment team
• Market Research, trend forecasting, and data analysis smart, concise research with insightful analysis
• Provide research data and insight got the TWiST team
• Perform due diligence (including financial, customer & IP) on companies entering Founder University, Accelerator, or The Syndicate
• Manage, update and build our Notion Database (Live and breathe Notion!)
• Write blog posts about companies in our portfolio
• Write articles for our newsletters
• Be the first to volunteer to help create efficiencies in our systems by using Zapier, ChatGPT, Gemini, Groq etc.
• Other tasks as assigned

Skills Required:

• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Intellectually curious, able to independently learn new skills
• Be exceptional at productivity, communications & web software (i.e., Mailchimp, Google Docs, Zapier, Keynote, Squarespace, Slack, Typeform, Word Press, Outreach.io, Notion, Crunchbase, etc)
• Relentless positivity & dogged resilience — we’re a scrappy team doing world-class work
• Proactive thinking & the ability to anticipate problems find solutions is critical
• Self-starter, this is key, know how to manage up
• 1-2 years of experience working in a startup environment
• Accounting experience, know how to read a P&L and balance sheet
