In Charge Electrical Services is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Austin, TX. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this is a junior‑level accounting role focused on the day‑to‑day accuracy of the company's financial records. The ideal candidate has solid foundational accounting skills, a working knowledge of US GAAP, and the discipline to thrive in a full‑time, fast‑paced, in‑office environment.

General Ledger & Journal Entries
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and in accordance with US GAAP
- Maintain supporting documentation for all entries to ensure a clean and audit‑ready general ledger
- Assist with recurring and month‑end accrual entries
Account Reconciliations
- Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts
- Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
- Escalate unresolved discrepancies to the Controller with appropriate documentation
Fixed Assets and Inventory
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and asset details across multiple subsidiaries.
- Work with the fleet manager to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
- Assist with inventory adjustments and identify and work with branches to resolve inventory discrepancies
Month‑End & Year‑End Close
- Support the monthly close process by completing assigned tasks within established deadlines
- Assist the Controller in preparing close schedules and tracking the status of outstanding items
- Support year‑end close and assist in preparing schedules for the external audit and tax preparation
Financial Reporting & Other Duties
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedules
- Generate, analyze and distribute internal reports on a weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain organized accounting files and records consistent with company policy
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as directed by the Controller or CFO
- Act as a point of support for our operations, HR, and branch staff across multiple states as needed
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on accounting experience
- Intermediate understanding of US GAAP, including accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet management
- Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations independently
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data organization)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on‑site full‑time at our Austin, TX corporate office (northwest side of town).
Preferred
- Experience with Oracle Net Suite (ERP)
- Prior experience in a service‑based or multi‑location business environment
- Familiarity with multi‑state accounting operations
