The Director of Accounting is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and contributing to the strategic financial planning of the organization. This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of financial principles and regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and revenue recognition.

Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard assets.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.

Oversee the financial audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.

Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making and business growth.

Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), regulations, and tax requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.

Minimum of 7‑10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a management or supervisory role.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Quick Books Enterprise) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

In‑depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.

Proven experience in financial statement preparation, analysis, and audit management.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
