Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, building relationships with vendors and internal teams.
- Maintain and update contact databases and process documentation.
- Navigate company portals and update complex Excel reports.
- Post payments, reconcile ledgers, and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with customers to collect payments and manage payment plans; coordinate with collections agencies as needed.
- Support internal teams and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
- Generate financial reports and assist with audits.
- Maintain accurate customer data in ERP systems.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
- Process 40-60 AR/Collections Notes daily, balanced with 2-3 hours of emails and other tasks.
- Experience in analytical collections.
- Critical thinking and decision making in collections/accounts receivable.
- High School Diploma or GED required; finance degree preferred.
- 3+ years of accounts receivable/collections/accounting experience.
- Technical skills to operate in multiple ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, including VLookups and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Experience in collections, processing 60-80 daily plus other accounts receivable and customer service activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Analytical skills, in-depth organization, and decision-making capabilities.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to assist any of the companies supported by the Shared Services team.
- Experience in Pharma/Bio Tech/Med Tech preferred.
- Experience in a larger organization preferred.
Located in a premium office space at 5th & Colorado in downtown Austin, with a gorgeous view. You will work alongside the AR/Payroll teams in an open-concept office with cubicles. The shared services team includes 4 A/R Reps assigned to each entity, with 14 total A/R Reps. The office features a BEVI machine, catered lunches frequently, and two state-of-the-art kitchens. Opportunities for career growth are available, including a leader role/supervisor role program.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
