This full‑time Senior Accountant role is a hybrid role with consistent on‑site attendance based in Gonzales,Ã TX, which is approximately one hour east of San Antonio and south of Austin.
Responsibilities- Drive monthly financial close process
- Prepare month‑end journal entries
- Manage prepaid, amortization and fixed‑asset/depreciation schedules
- Maintain monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and weekly bank reconciliations
- Manage and prepare complex entries for employee and broker commissions and royalties
- Support finance team with variance explanations and validation of financial data
- Complete quarterly alcohol tax refund filings
- Support annual audit and external stakeholder requests as needed
- Support continuous improvement and development of efficiencies for close and reporting including implementation of new software and tools
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Support the maintenance and integrity of ERP data
- Complete other duties as assigned including A/R, A/P and other tasks
- High integrity, attention to detail and results‑driven mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field with extensive accounting experience. CPA, CPA candidate, or CPA equivalent credentials strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting as well as familiarity with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Manufacturing and/or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Private Equity, acquisition and debt accounting
- Experience with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or Quickbooks Enterprise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS office tools, SharePoint and PowerBI
- Knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and plant financials
- Experience with Infor Syteline/CSI ERP
- Experience managing e‑commerce (company owned and third party) accounting
- Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
- Experience with handling high volume of data
- Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
