CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team supporting our mission. This position will entail a wide range of duties including hands-on coordination and management of the e-billing and payment cycle workflow related to payment posting, charge corrections, and monthly reconciliation of payments to bank deposits for the Firm’s offices, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities- Ensures accurate observance of e-billing requirements and processes
- Prepares monthly, semi-monthly and ad-hoc billing reports for internal and external clients
- Ensures timely invoice submission to clients, based on established timelines
- Creates and distributes ad hoc operational and billing reports to management as requested
- Works with Controller and Accounting Department to identify, review and recommend changes to automate or enhance timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency of billing processes
- Supports internal and external auditors as requested
- Supervises e-billing and receivables staff
- Evaluates e-billing and receivables staff skill levels, recommends any necessary training or changes
- Provides feedback to staff performance appraisals, develops performance management objectives to address concerns, drives engagement and retention; participates in team hiring and separation decisions
- Delegates assignments and projects to staff as appropriate
- Demonstrated ability to work well, be influential and articulate initiatives, projects, results, and analyses to senior leadership and staff, including presenting ideas clearly and succinctly
- High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
- Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and deliver high-quality work product accurately
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional, collaborative team
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- Five years of legal billing/receivables experience and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and billing software; advanced e-billing experience
- Two years of supervisory experience in a similar role
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Access
